July 22 – Leadership representatives of the two major political
parties of Kurdistan region, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)
and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) met today to consult and
discuss issues related to the necessary preliminary steps for
the implementation of the Washington Peace Agreement for peace
and normalization of the body politics in the region. An informed
source described the talks as positive and productive. Representatives
of the two political bureaus agreed to continue consultations
and meetings in order to consider wider issues. The PUK delegation
was represented by: Dr. Kamal Fuad, Omar Said Ali, Emad Ahmad,
Arsalan Bayez, Saadi Ahmad Pera, Aso Ali and Khasraw Shera. The
KDP delegation consisted of Sami Abdul Rahman, Dr. Roj Nuri Shawais,
Zaem Ali, Brusk Nuri Shawis and Mamosta Hassan.
